About LoCo

Founded in 2016 by best friends Jim Stone and Andy Delpapa, LoCo Skateshop was created for skaters who didn’t have a local shop to call their own. What started as a neighborhood shop in Longmont, Colorado, has evolved to serve skaters throughout Boulder County and even beyond through our online store. LoCo is more than just a place to grab gear — it’s a spot where skaters of all levels can find community, quality products, and a place that feels like home.

In-Store & Online Service

Our Longmont storefront provides an in-person experience that goes beyond just shopping. Local customers can take advantage of free board repairs and enjoy exclusive products and face-to-face support from our knowledgeable team. For skaters in the area, LoCo is a true community hub, and we’re here to make everyone feel welcome and ready to roll.

For those skaters who can’t visit us in person, our online shop extends LoCo’s reach, bringing the same high-quality boards, gear, and apparel to skaters everywhere. Although services like repairs are reserved for our in-store customers, our online store ensures that every skater, near or far, has access to the latest and greatest products.

Employee Culture

At LoCo, we believe that taking care of our team is just as important as taking care of our customers. We offer fair pay, and a work environment that’s all about positivity and support. When our team is happy and motivated, it shows in the community we create and the service we provide.

Store Manager, Chad Lafarlette

Chad, a seasoned skater from Shreveport, LA, has been the store manager at LoCo Skateshop since 2021. His skateboarding flame was lit in '99, inspired by "Rocket Power" and those old-school Nickelodeon skate commercials. Alongside his twin brother, Chad convinced their dad to pick up their first board from a local pawn shop—a beat-up Variflex that they cherished.

Now a regular at spots like Mission Curbs and Greenblock, Chad has a soft spot for any well-painted curb, but his dream spot is the LA Costco Curbs. Off the board, Chad is just as creative, with passions ranging from filmmaking to playing chess, always bringing a strategic approach to both his hobbies and his skating.

Chad's signature move, the Slappy Front Crook, showcases his smooth, effortless style that has matured just as he has over his many years on earth. You can catch glimpses of his slick tricks, photography, and filmmaking ventures on Instagram @curbcuddler.

The LoCo Skate Team & Community

LoCo is all about building a skate community that’s as welcoming as it is passionate. We’re dedicated to supporting skaters with quality products and to fueling our skate team’s growth, energy, and passion for the sport.

We proudly sponsor events like Go Skate Day, where locals come together to skate, build community, and celebrate the sport.

In line with our sustainability values, we repurpose broken boards, donating them to local artists who turn them into creative projects, keeping the skate spirit alive in every way.
